Assistant Financial/Plant Controller

Location: Allentown, PA, USA

Reporting to the CFO, this individual will manage the accounting, cost records, and internal control requirements of Sumitomo (SHI) Cryogenics of America, Inc. (SCAI) as well as drive business/manufacturing results while collaborating with the Senior Management team. This hands-on role is responsible for full cycle accounting and finance including monthly, quarterly and annual close processes. The position requires significant cost accounting and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience as well as strong demonstrated analytical abilities and experience to sort through complex data and prepare meaningful information to assist management with decision-making, accounting deliverables, and business performance metrics and reports. As a member of the finance team, this individual will work cross functionally to identify areas of improvement in process and operations.

This position is a mid-level role within Finance and may supervise individual contributors or a small team.

Required Education and Experience

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (ideally in Finance or Accounting) from an accredited four-year college or university is required. MBA/CMA is a plus.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of directly related Finance experience within manufacturing/supply chain is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP and financial systems; EPICOR experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to research, retrieve, organize and summarize data to prepare reports, financial journal entries, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, chart generation, VBA macros, etc.).

  • Must have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to work with integrity, ethics, and use sound judgement. Trustworthy with confidential information and matters. Excellent moral and ethical standards.
  • Able to travel on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to pass a personal background check and/or clearance at time of hire and as required by Customers is required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
