Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Reports to: Manager – Product Development Engineering




An excellent opportunity for a qualified engineering professional to utilize their expertise to analyze, design, develop, and test new cryogenic helium refrigeration products. Participate in all phases of the product development life cycle from concept and specification generation to production ramp up, optimizing functionality, manufacturability, reliability, serviceability and cost. Improve existing products to meet or exceed customers’ expectations, to be market leader in high quality, reliability, and performance.

This position requires a self-motivated individual with demonstrated success performing in a multi-faceted environment.


Qualification and Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 7+ years of relevant work experience or MS in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) with 5 years of relevant work experience,
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design elements; such as machine design, mechanics of material, vibration and dynamics, thermal design.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to engineering problems from fundamentals of physics
  • Execute engineering design, analysis, or evaluation using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements,
  • Ensuring designs meet functional and performance specifications
  • Plan, develop, and execute design and test programs for qualification of components and prototypes
  • Provide technical support to personnel across all the functions supporting projects,
  • Working with manufacturing, supply chain and other business functional teams to deliver results
  • Provide creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues from both factory and field
  • Prepare and document engineering technical reports on design, analysis, and product design concepts
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments,
  • Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews,
  • Provide ideas for simplifications and improvements,
  • Good project management skills and understanding of critical tasks needed to successfully complete a project in a timely manner. Labor, material and/or construction costs estimation for budget preparation purposes
  • Support Team in projects completion.


Beneficial Skills & Attributes

  • Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical code and regulatory standards such as PED, UL, IEC, RoHS.
  • Experience in design of electrically controlled equipment, circuits and control systems that comply with applicable safety standards
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects; plan, document, market, and execute programs.
