Production (Shop) Supervisor/Manager

The SCAI Production Manager role is a hands‐on position that works directly with shop floor bargained employees. This position is directly responsible for and actively involved in all production activities, is visible on the shop floor and provides daily direction on all priorities.

Under the general direction of the Operations Manager, the Production Manager interacts with multiple levels within our organization, leads value added mechanics, partners with SCAI Planning and Supply Chain Management to meet production and profitability goals and liases with management to troubleshoot problems and provide innovative solutions.

This is a front‐line management position within Operations well suited for a manufacturing professional with hands on machining and welding experience, 2 years supervisory experience and five (5) years of hands‐on experience testing, repairing and maintaining electro‐mechanical equipment (preferably electro‐medical and electrotherapeutic apparatus) is required. Previous experience with Air‐Conditioning and Warm Air Heating Equipment or Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Equipment is highly preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED and a two year technical degree; or any combination of education and experience that would enable the acceptable performance of the full scope of the position is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of Supervisory or Management Experience in a Manufacturing/shop environment required; demonstrated ability to supervise, problem solve, schedule work assignments and adhere to a production schedule.
  • Demonstrated experience training, coaching, motivating, developing a team of employees in a shop environment is required.
  • Minimum of (5) years of hands‐on experience testing, repairing and maintaining electro‐mechanical equipment (preferably electro‐medical and electrotherapeutic apparatus) is required. Previous experience with Air‐Conditioning and Warm Air Heating Equipment or Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Equipment is highly preferred.
  • Must be proficient in the use of mechanical tools and service test equipment; a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude is required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with process and gas purification systems is highly preferred
  • Previous experience working in union environment highly preferred.

This position is very active and require the ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, type and climb throughout the day. Qualified employees must frequently lift and/or move items over 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Specific hand motions required by this job include typing, lifting, griping and pulling.
