Engineering Technician

Reports to: Manager – Product & Development Engineering

  

Summary

An excellent opportunity for a qualified person to utilize their expertise to develop and test new cryogenic helium refrigeration products. Participate in all phases of the product development life cycle from concept and specification generation to production ramp up, optimizing functionality, manufacturability, reliability, serviceability and cost. Improve existing products to meet or exceed customers’ expectations, to be market leader in high quality, reliability, and performance.

This position requires a self-motivated individual with demonstrated success performing in a multi-faceted environment.

 

Qualification and Responsibilities

  • Associates Degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in performance and qualification testing of products in Engineering and/or manufacturing.
  • Setup instrumentation & perform engineering qualification tests on products
  • Install & operate instrumentation for pressure, temperature, power & vacuum measurements
  • Test, calibrate & troubleshoot electrical & mechanical equipment
  • Mechanical & electrical assembly of prototypes
  • Helium leak detection of pressurized components
  • Gas chromatograph testing
  • Safe handling of pressurized equipment, voltages up to 600V, and cryogenic gases.
  • Recording of test data including use of data acquisition systems including Labview
  • Write test reports
  • Other duties may be assigned

 

Beneficial Skills & Attributes

  • Knowledge of cryogenic products, vacuum systems and their applications
  • Experience with programming within National Instruments LabView.

  • Ability to work as a team member and have the ability to work through challenges independently.
  • Practical hands-on mechanical engineering aptitude.

  • Understand and uphold safety & security procedures for both the workplace and products.
